As promised, here is my #thread on #proteins and their #vegetarian sources. I will also clarify functions of proteins in this thread. #Health

Proteins are a family of 21 amino acids. 12 of them are made by our body itself, while the other 9 amino acids should be taken from diet or supplements.

So, vegetarians need the nine essential amino acids from diet. Commonly known sources are milk & lentils (เคฆเคพเคฒ). But there are many more sources of protein than just these two!
The table below marks which foods contain which ones of the essential proteins:-

Milk, pumpkin seeds, yoghurt, lentils & kidney beans contain more types of proteins than others.
However, there are other food sources which we don't usually associate with protein: spinach, pista, green peas (เคฎเคŸเคฐ), sesame seeds (เคคเคฟเคฒ), buttermilk and so on!

These nine essential proteins perform various functions, like building muscles, regulating metabolism, immune system, enhancing endurance & energy, fighting depression, etc.
