1. Work life balance
*Reduced working hours to 8-9 hours (from 12-13 hours)
*Increased sleeping time to 7-8 hours (from 5-6 hours)
*Preponed dinner time to 7 PM instead of 10 PM
*Started sleeping at 10 PM instead of 1 AM, and getting up at 5 AM instead of 7 AM

2. Running
*Started consistent outdoor running since Nov 2020. *Average running of 15 km/day in 2021 and 12.5 km/day in 2022.
Walking (25%) + running (75%): combined 12 km/day in 2023.
*Completed 124 HM since Jan 2021
*Added strength training since Dec 2022.

3. Dietary modifications
*Stopped soft drinks
*Reduced sweets, carbs, sugar, ultraprocessed packaged foods,
*Increased protein intake (eggs, poultry, fish)
In addition to being overweight, I suffered from ankylosing spondylitis (AS) since age 16. I had no background of sports or running until age 49.
Running, weight loss and other changes have reduced my overall pain of AS too.
