10 simple foods that’ll stop you from feeling tired all day:
1) Eggs
Eggs contain nutrients, proteins, and vitamins to fuel you throughout the day.
Have them at breakfast (pair with oatmeal for a winning combo) or pack some hard-boiled eggs for a mid-day snack.
2) Nuts
Nuts are a great snack to keep on hand.
Their high protein and healthy fat profiles help make you feel full longer.
Just be careful. It's easy to go overboard and overshoot your calories since nuts are quite calorie dense.
3) Lentils
Lentils are loaded with carbs, protein, and fiber.
A single cup of cooked lentils contains 15g of fiber, 18g of protein, and 40g of carbs.
This helps to:
• Keep you full
• Grow your muscles
• Sustain your energy
4) Oatmeal
Oatmeal is a great way to start your day.
It’s extremely filling because it's packed full of fiber.
Not only that - it delays the absorption of glucose into the blood.
This means your blood sugar levels stay level and you don’t crash.
5) Hummus
What is hummus?
A great snack that won’t make you crash.
It's a combination of chickpeas, sesame seed paste, oil, and lemon.
Hummus contains slow digesting carbs and healthy fats to make you feel fuller longer.
6) Bananas
The potassium, complex carbs, and vitamin B6 content makes bananas an energy boosting machine.
Also, bananas contain 3 types of sugars:
• Fructose
• Glucose
• Sucrose
These are each absorbed at different rates, so your energy won’t spike and crash.
7) Fatty fish
Salmon and tuna are my go-to here.
Other good options are:
• Trout
• Mackerel
• Anchovies
Every serving gives you:
• Protein
• B-12 vitamins
• Omega-3 fatty acids
Omega-3 fatty acids help lower fatigue by reducing inflammation.
8) Brown rice
Brown rice is minimally processed.
This means it has more nutrients than white rice.
Brown rice contains manganese that helps enzymes break down carbs and protein to create energy.
Also, if you need to get more fiber in your diet, brown rice is a great option.
9) Leafy greens
Kale and spinach are great choices for lasting energy.
Kale contains the amino acid L-tyrosine, the precursor of dopamine, which increases motivation.
Spinach is a great source of iron which helps fight off fatigue and increases mental and physical endurance.
10) Sweet potatoes
These are a great choice for long-lasting energy.
Their high fiber content and complex carb profile give your body a steady supply of energy throughout the day.
