All India Dalit Varga Sangh which was actually fighting for Dalit rights, was banned by the British. Why did Ambedkar separate himself from the Sangh if he really cared for Dalits?
Reason:
1. To boost his image as the most/only important dalit leader so he can easily make dalits leave Hinduism.

To curb these nationalists, British came up with a master plan.
They started to promote those elements among Hindu society who can work for the British & break Hindu society from within by making one group fight against another instead of asking freedom from British.

British government was hellbent on splitting the nationalist mainstream by encouraging the separatist leaders with awards, who showed loyalty to the British government.
