the 60 mg/kg levetiracetam dose in status epilepticus is based on a prospective multi-center RCT in NEJM (ESSETT trial)
please don't change your practice based on a single-center retrospective cohort study
IMHO to challenge the 60 mg/kg dose you would need another RCT

also: levetiracetam 60 mg/kg is recommended by numerous guidelines including American College of Emergency Physicians (2024) & American Epilepsy Society (2016)
status epilepticus is an emergency. I don't think using less than recommended doses is clinically or medicolegally wise
