Thread 1/6:
The lack of professional reporters in #Somaliland with the ability to fact check even basic facts is a problem.
This problem is obvious when wadani claims they are the majority party when in fact they are not.
Repetition of that lie makes people into believers. ππ½

So in this thread we will examine that claim by using only the numbers from the last parliamentary and local council elections. ππ½
First, hereβs the parliamentary elections results as released by the #Somaliland Electoral Commission.
You can clearly see Wadani won that with a slim majority of 1 MP and 2134 votes.ππ½

But if you take into account that MP Barkhad Batuun with 21k votes, was voted in by a bipartisan group of voters across party and districts lines of Maroodi Jeex then it becomes evident Kulmiye got more votes per MP than Wadani. ππ½
Taking a small percentage of say maybe 20% or even 30% from both these MP Barkhad and Mayor Mooge would have given Kulmiye even a larger margin in both elections but hey whoβs counting?
