That they crucified Jesus peace be upon him. So if they think they did that and the Qurʾān is saying it already then we EXPECT there to be historical reports of people believing that Jesus ﷺ was crucified so from that angle there's no issue that these reports create for islam
2/
2/
Because islam doesn't deny such the possibility of these reports existing and actually affirmed that this could be in existence. Now how do we look at such things anyway? Epistemologically, divine revelation from God is higher in certainty than speculative history which means
3/
3/
If i found a historical report about something (whatever it is) then that's probably something speculative (ie it could be true and it could be false) because humans aren't infallible. But something which is revealed from God directly is certain because God is all knowing
4/
4/
So logically speaking, if we put numbers on it, the percentage for the historical report (whatever it is) would be below the 100%, it could be very low like 15%-20% and it could be very high like 80%-90% but regardless, uncertain! But revelation from God is 100% certain
5/
5/
So even if there's historical reports about Jesus ﷺ being crucified (regardless of their strength as a percentage) they would still be uncertain and below divine revelation in certainty which is 100% coming from God. So if islam is truly from God (we know that independently)
6/
6/
Then what islam says is 100% certain because it's from God directly and that takes precedent over any historical report. The Qurʾān says Jesus ﷺ wasn't crucified and was rather saved by Allah ﷻ and the Qurʾān is from God and thus that's 100% true and the case.
7/
7/
It also tells that people thought they killed jesus ﷺ and so it's expected to have some sort of a historical belief about that by certain people. So that doesn't go against the Qurʾān because it doesn't NO ONE BELIEVED this. It just says that belief is wrong and hence
8/
8/
The Qurʾān is from God then what it says takes precedent over whatever historical reports are there
So in a nutshell:
1) the existence of historical reports about a crucifixion of jesus ﷺ doesn't disprove the Qurʾān, it's mentioned in it already
2)what God said is the truth
