This is a lane marking system used together with russian mine roller systems such as the TMT-S or TMT-K. Its purpose is to let other troops know that the tank is crossing through a minefield, leaving behind bright signals that show its path.

It consists of a simple system of pyrotechnic elements (flares) which can burn up to 6 minutes and are easily visible up to a kilometer away. They drop down from the metal container into the ground directly behind the tank, marking its path through a minefield.
