Now, Delhi Lt Governor VK Saxena has sanctioned the prosecution of Arundhati Roy & Showkat Hussain under section 45 (1) of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act in this case (FIR No. 258/2010 dated 29.11.2010 u/s 124-A/153A/ 153B/504 and 505 of IPC and 13 UA (P) Act).

Last year in October, the Delhi Lt. Governor had also sanctioned their prosecution under section 196 of CrPC for offences punishable under various sections of the Indian Penal Code.

Meanwhile, Showkat Hussain was also sacked as Principal of Kashmir Law College in April 2022, for having secret links with secessionist groups. Showkat Hussain has been a hard-line ideologue of Pakistan-backed separatist groups.

According to sources, Showkat Hussain was secretly in touch with elements of secessionist networks to assist them in building up and sustaining a false narrative that no good can happen until J&K is part of India and the work and agenda of secessionists and their armed wings are legitimate and therefore required to be supported in various forms. He did all of this while being on the payroll of the very state he was desperate to break.
