In most exit polls, the NDA is securing a majority with over 272 seats at the Lok Sabha
Now it seems clear that PM Modi is getting another term!
THREAD: everything you need to know about his plans for the next 5 years🧵
India being the 3rd largest economy seemed like a distant dream at first, but now, transforming this dream into reality is not only a vision but a firm commitment under Narendra Modi’s leadership.
This vision is set to drive our country toward global economic prominence by 2029.
This ambitious goal is not merely aspirational, but it is backed by several proactive measures and foundational work, meticulously laid over the past decade.
So after analyzing Modi's speeches from the past 12 months and reviewing the BJP's manifesto,
— we have concluded that over the next 5 years, the Modi govt will prioritize these key issues actively.
He once said that “अब हम निर्णायक नीतियाँ बनते और निर्णायक फैसले होते देखेंगे।”.
So, let's begin by discussing the potential decisive decisions that could be made first.
1. Implementing One Nation, One Election (ONOE)
There are high chances that this idea is gonna get a major push by the central govt in the next 5 years.
This concept of ONOE suggest aligning the electoral schedules of all levels of Govt in India,
— including national, state and local elections, to ensure simultaneous elections across the country.
The idea is simple- fight elections for 3-4 months and work in the next 4.5 years.
This would reduce
· the frequency of elections,
· minimize disruptions to governance,
· and save significant amount of resources.
Now critics argue that this action could weaken federalism, diminish regional influence, and restrict the electorate's capacity to hold govt accountable across varying levels.
2. Executing a Uniform Civil Code (UCC):
This refers to a set of a common personal laws governing issues such as marriage, divorce, inheritance and adoption regardless of their religious affiliation.
Its objective is to replace all the current diverse & religion-specific personal laws, with a unified secular law.
Some people advocate UCC that it would promote gender equality, social justice & national integration by ensuring equal rights & responsibilities for all citizens.
But some see it as a disputable issue in India due to concerns about intruding upon religious freedom & cultural diversity.
Now let’s explore all the key sectors where the govt has already laid groundwork and intends to escalate these initiatives further.
3. India being a Maritime Power
Being surrounded by water from 3 sides, it’s strategically important for us to become a maritime power.
It’ll increase our regional stability, strategic influence and ensure energy security.
That’s why we’ve implemented a range of policies like:
a. Naval Modernization
b. Maritime Infrastructure Development
c. Maritime Security Cooperation
4. Aspirational District Program
Under this program, specific districts are chosen based on health, education, agriculture, water resources, financial inclusion, and infrastructure.
They receive focused support from central and state governments as well as development partners.
The sole aim is to develop and transform, improving socio-economic indicators and promoting inclusive growth
5. Green Hydrogen Mission
The mission aims to establish India as the Global Hub for production, usage & export for green hydrogen.
This’ll facilitate decarbonization, reduce fossil fuel imports & establish market leadership.
Efficient Expansion of Inland Waterways
Inland water transportation utilizes man-made canals, lakes and rivers.
A well-coordinated inland waterways network could
· significantly transform the country's logistics landscape,
· alleviate congestion on roads & highways, and
· bypass challenges related to land acquisition
Initiatives like National Waterway Project & Namami Gange have already been implemented.
6. Dominance in Semiconductors
To establish our global dominance in electronics, India is trying to build a semiconductor ecosystem.
For this reason, many schemes have been introduced to provide fiscal support to eligible applicants for setting up of Semiconductor Fabs
— aimed to attracting large investments for setting up semiconductor wafer fabrication facilities in the country.
7. Social Security
In order to empower Shramik Bandhus who are major contributors to the progress of Bharat,
— social security schemes like PM Jeevan Bima & Suraksha Bima has been implemented.
These schemes will get further linked with the post office & Digital India network.
8. Empowering Farmers
With 55% of the workforce engaged in agriculture sector, it’s very crucial for the govt to provide support to our Annadatas.
Take a look at some of the major initiatives:
· Increase in MSP
· Expanding irrigation facilities
· Launching Krishi Satellite
· Atmanirbhar in Pulses & Edible Oil
· Further incentivizing crop diversification
· Better network of grain storage facilities
· Upgrading Krishi Vigyan Kendra
9. Global Partnerships
In order to strengthen our position & implement policies to advance our national interests with the spirit of Vishwa Bandhu, we’re gonna work on:
· consolidating our position as a Voice of the Global South by using the 5S approach of
Samman, Samvad, Sahyog, Shanti and Samriddhi,
· being the first responder to and a trusted global partner, and
· becoming the Permanent Member of the UN Security Council.
Furthermore, we all know the Modi govt's stance on infrastructure and manufacturing sector in general.
They aim to raise the manufacturing sector's contribution from 16% to 25% of the GDP, with the expectation that 150M people currently engaged in the agriculture sector
— will transition to the industrial sector.
This shift is anticipated to generate more employment opportunities and lead to rapid urbanization.
There isn’t a sector, industry or community where “Modi ki Guarantee” hasn’t been offered.
