In a significant move against drug trafficking in Chennai, Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) officials raided & sealed the residence,office of alleged narco cartel kingpin Jaffer Sadiq.

The NCB began its investigation following information from the New Zealand customs authorities and the Australian police that large quantities of pseudoephedrine, concealed in desiccated coconut powder, were being sent to both countries from India.
The investigation with the Delhi police eventually led to a godown in Basai Darapur, West Delhi, where pseudoephedrine was being packed in a consignment of multigrain food mix. Three operatives — Mukesh, 34, Mujibur Rahman, 26, and Ashok Kumar, 33, of Villupuram, were arrested

of about 3,300 kg of drugs from a dhow about 60 nautical miles off the coast in the Indian Ocean & arrests of five foreign nationals with suspected Pakistan links.

The contraband, including 3,110 kg of hashish, 158.30 kg of crystalline powder Methamphetamine, and 24.60 kg of suspected heroin, is estimated to worth about ₹1,200 crore.

Further investigation revealed that SAHARA EXPRESS COURIER PRIVATE LIMITED courier company was used for the drug supply, which belongs to N CHITRARASU of DMK.
