For the @INCIndia the best thing would be to cover up the past. These Johny-come-lately Congressmen who want to prove their loyalty mess it up. Here is #Maruti story of #Congress.

His apprenticeship with Rolls Royce was arranged by Dhrama Teja. Dharma Teja used Nehru connection to become a Shipping tycoon. He was arrested in 1972 for frauds and imprisoned for 3 years. Long before #Adani he held 40% of Indian Shiping industry. He illegally escaped in 1977 much before #NiravModi and lived in US. That is another story.
Sanjay completed only two out of three years of #RollsRoyce 'arranged' internship. Vinod Mehta quotes the PRO of Rolls Royce- All he was interested in was booze and women. In 1959 Under chairmanship of LK Jha a committee was formed to create Indian automobile company. The price was set at Rs. 6000 as affordable car. 13 manufacturers came forward Including Hindustan Aircraft (now HAL). The proposal was junked as Planning commission decided that such important project cannot be given to private sector. But wait...
On 13th of November, 1968, Sanjay Gandhi was back in India and wanted to establish a car company. So Planning commission decided to change its mind. Raghunath Reddy announced in Parliament that Sanjay Gandhi has given great proposal to make car at the price of 6000 Rs per car. As head of Chairperson of Industrial Licensing Committee, rejecting proposals of Renault, Mazda, Toyota, Volkswagen etc. #IndiraGandhi granted license to Sanjay Gandhi.
#Maruti was given the license to manufacture 50000 Cars, equal to the capacity of three existing Indian Public Sector Manufacturers. Now #SanjayGandhi needed land for #Maruti. Bansi Lal, the #Congress CM offered 296 Acres of Land in Gurugram. This land was agricultural land, it was also close to an IAF Ammunition dump needing security clearance. VC Shukla was Minister of Defence Production. He got the CO agree to relax the guidelines.
The land was procured at 11000 Rs. per acre (the market rate was Rs. 40000 per acre). State Government paid the money, #Maruti paid the money to state in 1976. Farmers were called by the Government to raise any objection they had against the land acquisition. In the meantime, Police moved in and cleared the land of all the occupants, families, homes, lands, cattle. #ThankAFarmer.
Much has been spoken by #RahulGandhi on experience (or lack of) of Ambani and #Adani. In 1970, #SanjayGandhi showed his income in Tax papers as Rs. 722, and he got the license to open an automobile company, acquired land at cost of 36L. #Maruti Limited was floated in 1971. Sanjay was made MD with monthly salary of Rs. 4000. MA Chidambram (Grand Uncle of P Chidambaram) was the Chairman.
In 1972, #SanjayGandhi appointed 75 dealers for the future car which he promised delivery in SIX Months. Between 73-74, #Maruti collected Rs. 2.18 Crores from the dealers. Some dealers who asked refund due to non availability of car which did not come, were promptly arrested under MISA during #Emergency.
The Car delivery date was revised then to April 1973 and price doubled to Rs. 11,300. Industrial Finance Corporation gave biggest loan of the year to inexperienced #SanjayGandhi, who could not even produce a project report. Bankers who refused loans to #Maruti like Governor of RBI S Jagannathan and Deputy Director of RBI, Dr. RK Hazari were dismissed during Emergency and replaced by more pliant K R Puri
In 1977, #SanjayGandhi was still planning to launch the #Maruti car in the market. During #Emergency Maruti, the famed car company of the son of #Congress PM began selling or rather blackmarketing Steel and Cement allotted to the company in highly regulated market. In 1974, Maruti claimed to have gone into business of Road-rollers.
Next came an interesting news. Seven Months before launching #Maruti, #SanjayGandhi had launched another company called Maruti Technical Service, with partners as #SoniaGandhi, @RahulGandhi and @priyankagandhi. Maruti was to pay MTS 2% on sale as Consultancy service. MTS was created to siphon off Maruti.
The family invested 2.15 Lakhs to set up MTS and #Maruti immediately paid MTS 5 Lakhs. So the family took the entire investment out immediately. in June 1975 with money milked from Maruti, MTS formed a subsidiary Maruti Heavy Vehicle, which had assets of Rs. 12,331 only and produced goods worth 16L. MTS of #SoniaGandhi again got 2% of sales from MHV. 🤣🤣
MHV took imported engines, retrofitten in scrap Road rollers and sold them to government bodies at price 40% higher than the price of fresh product manufactured by GoI company called Jessop. No wonder #RahulGandhi is so worried about Public Sector. Oh, Yeah, Jairam Ramesh, let us talk about the Maruti Story. It has #Farmers, #CronyCapitalism, #PublicSectorCorruption, #Bankscam all rolled into one. 🙏🙏
