#Thread Debunking the myth of rupmati being a rajput. Don't know why some idiots with low intelligence use such imaginary stories against Rajput community which have no base.
Latest is the case of Rupmati, the famed companion of Baz Bahadur, the last sultan of Malwa who has been professed by Non Rajputs as a "Rathore Rajput" who married a Muslim.
While the contemporary works like Akbarnama, Tabaqat-i-Akbari, Muntakhab-ut-Tawarikh none of them mentions anything about her caste, the works of later times also like Tarikh-i- Farishta or Ma'asir-ul-Umara speaks nothing about her caste.
Abd al-Qadir Bada'uni, who was both contemporary writer as well as an eyewitness of the Mughal conquest of Malwa, doesn't even mention Rupmati, in his work Muntakhab-ut-Tawarikh, forget about her caste.
In Akbarnama of Abul Fazl, Rupmati has been described as one of the women in the seraglio (harem) of Baz Bahadur.
Ma'asir ul Umara, a work of later times, mentions Rupmati as one of the dancing girls of Baz Bahadur.
Historian AL Srivastava calls Rupmati "a courtesan", while JM Shelat "a dancing girl or purchased slave".
Rupmati or other dancing girl in the harem of Baz Bahadur were definitely not Rajput women.
Other works on the status of Rupmati ...
