Did you know you can calculate lot size in @tradingview using the risk : reward tool? Here is how👇
Now firstly this depends on the broker and $ per point/pip.
In this example I will be using:
- NQ / NAS ( $20 a point)
- EURUSD ($10 a point)
Starting with Forex (EURUSD) I adjust the settings within the risk reward tool (Account Size and Risk %).
I then adjust the lot size to 1000.
This leave zero decimal places, I add them in myself.
[see photo]
I can double check this mathematically:
$2000/10/9.8 = 20.40 lots
I then right click and save this as a template.
Now for Futures (NQ) I adjust the settings within the risk reward tool (Account Size and Risk %).
Then I adjust the lot size to 1
This will give me the Lot/Contract size in the RR tool.
[see photo]
Lets check it mathematically:
$2000/20/16.5 = 6.06 Lots / Contracts
I then save it as a template as well so I cant switch between them and it keeps the settings.
I hope you found this helpful. If you are still confused on this, feel free to ask questions below. If there are lots of questions I will consider making a short video for this.
