The Last Supper

This chapter had very much of a 'calm before the storm' vibe to it. This is ironic, because the storm seems to have already arrived on a global scale.
Oda is clearly escalating the scale of events. The whole world will be affected by what happens next.

Just one use of the Mother Flame weapon has caused earthquakes felt around the world & a global rise in sea levels. Some islands have already been submerged entirely.
It seems that this is the beginning of a "Great Flood." A flood to reset the world
Imu's "Great Cleansing."

Mythologies of the "Great Flood," is something that appears in the texts of all of the Abrahamic religions.
Many will be familiar with it through the story told in the Book of Genesis. The basis of the story of Noah's Ark.

It seems clear that Oda intends for the events that are unfolding to lead to an event on a "Biblical," scale.
The Gorosei stated in this chapter that they intent to replicate the use of the Mother Flame now that it's effectiveness has been proven.

If this were to happen, then the damage it will cause around the world will be unimaginable. Just one use of this weapon has caused global disasters. Multiple usages would potentially be an apocalypse.
'It is not "God" that people fear. It's the "Terror" that "God" incarnates.'

Oda is clearly setting up for a major event that will trigger the final conflict of the story. An event such as a "Great Flood," implicates Noah & the prophecy of Poseidon
It is no coincidence that Oda showed us Water 7 & Wano. Birthplace & resting place of Pluton

With all of these Biblical references in mind, the impression I got from the other half of this chapter was that we're seeing a "Last Supper."
This is the last meal before the great battle begins. A battle that will cause an incident that will shock the world.

This is essentially the moment before the battle that will be the catalyst for the finale of the story.
Imu's 'Great Cleansing' has begun, and the results of this battle will determine the future of the entire world.
The Straw Hats are about to cause 'The Great Incident.'

Many people already suspect that this incident that will 'shock the world,' is also the foreshadowed incident that it was said the Grand Fleet will cause.
It seems very likely that the Grand Fleet will end up coming to fight alongside Luffy against the fleet.

In this chapter, we also see Saturn order the destruction of the civilian ship escaping from Egghead. This is a direct repetition of what happened at Ohara.
That reminds us what this is all really about. The information that Ohara discovered.

Preserving the 'Will of Ohara' is one of Dragon's main motivations, and a core inspiration for the creation of the Revolutionary Army.
There is no doubt that these events will lead to Dragon making a move personally.

Dragon will almost definitely feel the need to get involved directly with all that is at stake here.
It seems that this will be the day of Dragon & Luffy's foretold reunion.

The potential of an alliance between Luffy & Dragon brings us back around to the other significance of the great storm that has started in this chapter.
The coming of this storm also signifies the arrival of the foretold storm that it is said that those the D. Clan will bring.

To conclude. This chapter represents the true beginning of the final saga. This is the "Last Supper." Before the battle that will define the future of the entire world will be decided.
The stage is set for the Grand Fleet and Dragon to make their moves.

It is also very likely that this is the foretold 'promised time' that the people of Fishman Island & Wano believe in.
Oda is already establishing the set up for these events to lead to Poseidon & Pluton to enter the main stage.
The 'Two Sovereign' will meet again.
