Tracking #crypto whale wallets used to be my favourite thing.
While it can be profitable, we need to be aware of the dangers and risks involved.
Here’s how we can avoid getting scammed 🧵
I shared all the tools and step by step guides in my threads.
Shortly after, a lot of accounts emerged posting solely whale wallet tracking threads.
As a result we need to be careful.
I’ll be showing you
1️⃣ How to spot fake transactions in wallet
2️⃣ How to verify token holder
1️⃣ How to spot fake transactions in wallet
Using @zeroin
1. Will show the rate (for buying)
2. Will show value of coin used to buy
3. Application used
4. Will show icon for major coins ( $ETH, $USDT etc)
When it says N/A it’s a fake tx
🔑 Don't go near received tokens
🔑 Also only track and follow consistently whales not one-hit-wonder wallets
🔑 Do bear in mind, some real transaction may not show all of these but definitely a few of them.
If it shows none of these signs it’s definitely a fake transaction.
Using @etherscan or any blockchain explorer
Click on the txn hash
- Pay attention to “Transaction Action:” or the absence of it. (only for trades)
Fake txns don’t have show.
- Pay attention to “ERC-20 Tokens Transferred: “
Should be just a few lines for real txns not 100’s .
@DeBankDeFi although not as user friendly can also be easily used to identify scam transactions.
Here is the same fake transaction we saw on @zerion.
2️⃣ How to verify token holder
Here’s how you double check.
- Copy the token contract address
- Go to a blockchain explorer (etherscan)
- Search that token
- Search the holders
- Use the wallet address to filter through
If you don’t find the wallet on that list, its fake.
