Am quite smitten at the minute with the Flyer 60 and Flyer 72 for Merlin and Chinook internal carriage, and at least 6 per A400M. A common vehicle family for Paras, Marines, and Rangers.
Heresy I know
But with, you know
Or even Javelin
Just a view from the cheap seats, but these seem much more capable and robust than the tacticool golf carts
And given users, not really sure the capital costs make that much difference in the long term and neither does onshore manufacturing, although it would be nice to see some UK based licence production for a decent sized run.
It would transform mobility
And if you fancy double stacking to take advantage of the enormous height of the A400M, you could fit a dozen in. They can be air dropped as well, and about a thousand are in service with the US, the kind of users that Para and RM muck about with
But this would require red and greed to work together, so that's that then
And won't someone think of the stores, please, 2,7 tonnes worth on the TUV72
And finally, if you want to move personnel at speed whilst accepting some measure of risk, you can pack a 12 person team in one vehicle (looking at the new Para and Ranger concepts), all with a Chinook internally carried vehicle
