[1/9] 🚨 If you are someone who is studying for #PLAB1 exam. Following thread might help.
Plab 1 happens 4 times in a year. It’s an easy exam but 35% of the candidates fail their PLAB 1 in each attempt. It’s pricey (Β£255) and securing a seat is no walk in the park.
[2/9] There are resource combinations proven effective for the past candidates:
A) Plabable qbank + Plab Keys
B) Plabable qbank + Plab Gems
C) Medrevisions qbank + Medrevision notes
I chose (A) but every combination is capable of ensuring success.
[3/9] Once you've chosen your resource combination, commit to it religiously. Doubt should have no place in your preparation. The thought of switching resources should be dismissed instantly.
[4/9] PLAB 1 majorly tests you on 2 elements:
A) Clinical Clinchers
B) Current guidelines
To cover these, the PLABABLE/MEDREVISION question banks are designed with MCQs and the explanations repeating many a times.
The candidates fail to use the Qbanks effectively.
[5/9] A biggest pitfall is solving the qbank right after reading notes. Your answers may be correct due to short-term memory, giving a false sense of achievement. And you are happy that 90/100 are correct. That’s wrong. This method won't lead to long-lasting understanding.
[6/9] Remember, the qBank isn’t just for answering questions; it’s for stimulating your thought process. So, don't jump into solving questions immediately after reading notes (PlabKeys/Notes).
[7/9] Aim for atleast two qbank revisions.
In your first sitting, solve and learn odd-numbered MCQs (1,3,5...19) from the qbank for a particular chapter. Follow this up with reading the Notes. After 2-3 weeks, return to the same chapter and solve even-numbered questions (2,4…)
[8/9] Engage with the question bank first to test your understanding. Let your answers be wrong. Then, use the notes to help you remember the clinchers. This way, the high-yield questions will be at your fingertips.
[9/9] This strategy will help you pick the high yield questions you're forgetting. Flag them and memorize them! PLAB 1 is not tough, but with the wrong plan, you might fail it. You've got this! πŸ™Œ #PLAB1 #MedTwitter #IMGs
