Yet, Master Tara Singh, influenced by Nehru and his Brahmin roots, chose to bind their fate with India.

The promises echoed and Sikhs sought solace in the assurance of equal religious rights.
But as the constitution of India took form, a twist of fate awaited.
Within its pages, Article 25(b) labeled Sikhism as a mere branch of Hinduism, stripping Sikhs of their freedom.

Depriving Sikhs of religious freedom was just the beginning.
Hindu Brahmins in power nurtured a notion, believing all in India had Hindu ancestors, "misguided" in their faith.
A crusade emerged, veiled in force, to bring them back to the Hindu fold by hook or by crook.

In the enigmatic dance of power, #Brahmins harbored a curious dependence on #Sikhs .
Punjab, guarded by Sikhs, shielded India's vulnerable border and agricultural prowess of these Sikh artisans, their production, was a lifeline for the emerging Indian #Hindutva state.

The Sikhs' religious beliefs and their warrior spirit bred insecurity.
Which led to 84,when the holiest Sikh site was ravaged, and a chilling wave of violence claimed thousands of Sikh lives.

When pressed by a journalist about Khalistan, he cryptically declared, "I have never used this term, but Bibi(Indira) herself shall place it in my hands."
