Raw Honey is the purest, life force giving substance you can possibly put into your body. 'Superfood' doesn't begin to do it justice. Eat more raw honey, and watch your health improve.
What is Honey? Honey creation begins when the bee lands on a flower and drinks its nectar. The nectar is then stored in the honey sac, or honey stomach with enzymes added by the bee where it is broken down into fructose and glucose.
The honey bee flies back to the hive, and spits the nectar out into one of the comb cells. The bees then dry it out using a warm breeze made with their wings. At this point, the bees add pollen + saliva, then cover the cell with a wax cap and now they have food for the winter!
Luckily for us, bees create more honey than they need, so we can cooperate with the bees and beekeepers harvest and bottle the liquid gold for our enjoyment. Interesting fact: Bees buzzing is inherently vibrationally healing. Now imagine the power of the honey they create!
Honey itself is a powerful substance that will enhance your nutrient intake in a delicious way. Natural honey contains a range of compounds including: niacin, riboflavin, pantothenic acid
calcium, magnesium, manganese
potassium, phosphorous, zinc
vitamins A, C, D, E and more
Honey contains hydrogen peroxide and glucose oxidase and has a low pH level, which means it can naturally kill harmful bacteria and fungi. You can put raw honey on wounds, acne, sore throats, cuts in order to prevent infection, remove redness and heal the area quicker.
The magical substance of raw honey is comprised mainly of bee pollen and bee propolis. Bee pollen is a super nutritious compound containing proteins, vitamins, minerals, beneficial fatty acids, carotenoids, and bioflavonoids.
Propolis is a natural resinous mixture produced by honeybees from substances collected from parts of plants. The word propolis is derived from Greek, in which pro stands for βat the entrance toβ and polis for βcommunityβ or βcity,β - propolis is the glue of the hive.
Since ancient times propolis has been used by man, especially in folk medicine to treat several maladies. Egyptians used bee glue to embalm their cadavers, Incas employed propolis as an antipyretic agent. Greek and Roman physicians used it as disinfectant and antiseptic.
Even as we know historically it has been used as a powerful medicinal substance, it has also been shown in today's scientific world in clinical research to have a beneficial medical effect on our health.
Why should we have honey RAW? When any foods are heated to a certain point, the nutrition within is degraded - the same is true for honey. Most honey in grocery stores has been heated and filtered so it looks clean and smooth. Raw = Great
UNHEATED = best but few are like this
Honey comes in many different varieties because of the different pollen and plants that bees will forage in. Different types of honey will have different tastes and nutrient levels! Eating local raw honey can help you attune to the environment and improve allergy symptoms.
In the wild, animals like bears, honey badgers, raccoons, opossums, and skunks also love to eat honey. It is highly prized the world over which is usually a positive sign of something being good for us.
I add raw honey to most of my meals, it's delicious on meat, fruit, bread, cheese and pretty much anything. An amazing way to get extra calories and powerful nutrients that will support your health.
