PROP firm is short for proprietary firms
A prop firm is a company that offers prop traders the opportunity to use their skills to trade for them.
The company provides traders the capital that they can use to trade stocks, commodities, futures, derivatives and currencies

This simple means that, as a prop firm trader, you have the freedom to choose what you want to trade as a trader.
Until now Prop firm trading are limited to only the foreign exchange traders (Forex traders )
•So What are the Risks in Prop firm trading ??

If you're not an already above average trader, the chances of you receiving any profit from Prop Firms is low. Here's why ⬇️
The most common style of Prop firm trading certification is the evolution model. In this model you pay a relatively small cost to "Try out" for the firm.

If you PASS all parameters required of all phases (usually 1 or 2 phases) you will receive an account that you can then make money with (funded account).
Whilst if you FAIL to meet up with the required parameters, you may receive a free or discounted retry or loose the account

And must pay for another evaluation if you'd like to continue trading with their firm
This is dependent on the prop firm rules tho.
To trade accounts under these firms require relatively low cost of purchase

Prop Firms are definitely real and many many traders are making so much money from them. The key take away from Prop firm validity is if they will pay out once you have earned a certain payout amount
Scam Firms unfortunately also exist

But most Firms today are legit and they pay out quite well

FTMO, MFF , 5%ers, Maven, BeSpoke, E8, FundedFx, FundedNext, BlueGuardian, FundedEngineer, Consumate traders & so many more I may have not listed

No single prop firm is the best for everyone, but there are some that stick out amongst the rest
As an individual you may be looking for the quickest payout possible

Or even the lowest spread firms, or EA non Restricted firms (EA are trading bots).
Different prop have different degree of trust, payout requirements, online presence, instrument offerings, platform offerings, holding overday/weekend requirements, leniency for mistakes made

And other deal breaker rules for different types of persons

Now prop firms enable traders trade with larger funds ordinarily they wouldn't have been able to own.
Let's say a traders target is $500 with a $50 account as a start up capital

Now he would need to make 900% of his capital for him to strike his goal
But on a $5k prop account which can be purchased for the same $50 would be a 10% gain
Of course it's not as easy as it seems on paper or imaginations😅
There are alot of factors surrounding prop trading

And a below average trader may find these conditions and rules tedious to scale through which in result would lead to countless blown accounts & depression from self doubt
But in as much as it requires tedious work it is also a worthwhile opportunity for those who end up passing
