One day, Jail officials found him unconscious.
A prison warder was called to give him first aid. She 'freaked out' after seeing huge number of bedbugs on his body. She even refused to give him CPR.
There is no external injury.
His family is shocked and asking questions.

His lawyer Michael D. Harper described the case as one of the most inhumane deaths.
He said:
βHis client was found dead in a jail cell after being eaten alive by bed bugs & insects.
What Mr. Thompson was housed in was not fit for a diseased animal.
He did not deserve this.β
