My post 1st leg thread πŸ‘€ #ElClasico
It may sound trivial but it's better to lose 0-2 than 0-4. In both situations the team doesn't qualify for next round, but the 2nd result hurts more from a mental POV. And may affect self-confidence going forward.
Remember those 15 minutes before Kessié scored the last minute goal & we won 2-1? Barça was attacking like crazy, even tho a draw would have been a good result, and Real Madrid had several chances (Asensio's offside goal & others). We were lucky not to concede. Today we conceded.
What we like about this team and coach is also their weak point. Energy, youth, ambition, but also inexperience, immaturity, naΓ―vetΓ©.
Losing & getting disqualified is OK. Being humiliated by our historic rival on our ground isn't.
Excitement, excessive desire to help and be everywhere & do many things at the same time.
Here, Araujo could have stayed put next to Vinicius since KoundΓ© was controlling Benzema.
There were a lot of unforced & silly individual defensive errors in this game...
Last thing : I don't think analyzing this loss from a tactical perspective makes much sense. As I said here above, IMHO it wasn't properly prepared from a mental POV by the coach : easily provoked, panicked after each goal, as if there was too much pressure on them... </thread>
