I'm 18, and I just finished high school.
Last week, I started my job as a full-time software engineer at @EclipseFND—one of the most exciting blockchain startups around the world.
Here's the crazy story of how it all started seven months ago 🧵
I’ve been in the web3 and blockchain space for a year and a half.
It’s been a fascinating journey of discovering new ideas, technologies, and innovations that have the potential to shape the future of the internet, governance, law, ownership, and so much more!
I went down the rabbit hole of learning how blockchains work at a deep level and also taught myself how to build applications on these chains using my experience as a programmer.
I played around with everything from EVM chains like Polygon and Fantom to alt L1s like Solana.
I soon realized that for this technology to be useful in the real world, several problems needed to be addressed.
One of them is scalability.
For context: Ethereum today can only handle 30 txn/s; for context, Visa does 24,000 txn/s.
Ever since, I've been looking for an efficient chain with great developer experience.
In August 2022, I got a chance to explore the modular world of blockchains—a new paradigm in building fast, efficient, and sovereign chains for mass adoption.
I applied for the first modular fellows’ cohort with @CelestiaOrg when I saw @dabit3’s announcement tweet.
Somehow, I was accepted!
I now had the opportunity to build on this cutting technology and network with some of the brightest minds in the space.
This was when I met @neelsalami, the founder and CEO of Eclipse, in December of last year.
We discussed opportunities for working together.
I loved the vision and team behind Eclipse, only one problem... I was still in high school, and working full-time was impossible😅
The more I learned about the modular world, the more fascinated I was, and I couldn't wait to work here full-time.
That dream came true this month when I finished high school!
At Eclipse, I'll be building new features, fixing issues, developing business partnerships, and collaborating with other teams working with us.
I'll also handle a lot of the community work on Twitter and other platforms.
I want to try and help out wherever I can 😄
I've learned from this experience to always take advantage of opportunities when you get them, keep learning, work hard, and keep networking.
You never know where you might end up!
I'm super excited to work with the entire @EclipseFND team 🤩
I wanted to thank @JoshCStein, @nickwh8te, @lzrscg, @awtnmy,@crypto_han, @dabit3, @Yazanator, @musalbas, and everyone at @CelestiaOrg who supported me during my time at modular fellows.
Too many incredible folks to mention that I'm grateful to.
Also, a shoutout to my besties @kvncnls, @razacodes, @TommyMaherDev, @EriKnowShift, @htmleverything, @codingyuri, @LinuxSeb, @saminacodes and all of you who've supported me in this journey.
I wouldn't be here without you ❤️
...and how could I forget @TheJackForge 😭
