In the midst of teak jungle 50km from #Indore , live roughly 2000 tribals in 6.29 sq km village called Kalakund, it has 2 tiny Mandirs too.
Who erected this masjid here here & why?
While Mandirs have not a soul, almost, these are gathered here on a Sunday? #LandJihad ?
There used to be an old meter gauge train to Kalakund from Mhow. Passing through the lush green mountain ranges & Patalpani waterfall, it would stop to pay homage at a Mandir dedicated to the freedom fighter Tantya Mama. It’s stopped since Feb 23 for broad gauge railway line.
In about 24 villages around Kalakund, almost every farmer had cattle. In 1925, during heavy rains of 4 months, Choral river flooded & access roads were cut off, the villagers started making kalakand with the surplus milk & sold it to travellers when trains stopped at Kalakund.
Since then, for every traveller who passed Kalakund, Kalakand was a must buy!
Now that there’s no train most tribals have abandoned the village, there’s no selling Kalakand
we couldn’t even get a cup of tea at a lone tea shop!
A liberal person in my pace, would’ve eaten biryani 👇🏻
In the name of ‘vikas’, we’re loosing our organic villages, damaging the
‘life enhancing negatively charged ions’, uprooting indigenous tribes & local trade, most importantly, putting our villages at risk of #LandJihad & the dangerous demographic treat that comes along with it!
*threat that comes ..
