#Ochrobactrum species are gram-negative, non-lactose fermenting, aerobic bacilli closely related to #Brucella genus.
It is found in the environment such as water, soil, animals, and plants. It is also part of the normal intestinal flora of humans.
#Ochrobactrum is known to infect immunocompromised hosts, has the propensity for abscess formation, and has been reported to cause line infections.
#Ochrobactrum is known for its multidrug resistance, including ß-lactams such as penicillins, cephalosporins, and sometimes carbapenems.
Treatment of Ochrobactrum is very challenging; most susceptible to FQ, aminoglycosides, carbapenem and TMP-SMX
