I was honored today to meet with our ambassador in Paris, HE Dr. Riad Yassin, director of the MENA Department, HE Ms. Ann GueGuen @anngueguen &officials in French MFA, to discuss developments of the political situation in Yemen, bilateral relations, and ways to enhance them.
2-I talked about govt stand re comprehensive, fair &sustainable peace, &supporting regional &intl nternational efforts to end war &achieve comprehensive political settlement, I pointed that Houthi militia rejected all peace initiatives &attempts to impose irrational conditions.
3-I reviewed Houthis practices &attempts to create economic crisis in IRG areas by targeting oil export ports, which threatens to prolong the humanitarian crisis, &appreciated support provided by France to finance the humanitarian response plan for Yemen for the year 2023.
4-I emphasized on position of Presidential Leadership Council led by HE Prez Dr. Rashad Al-Alimi, regarding alleviating humanitarian suffering on Yemenis, &positive dealing with efforts &initiatives aimed at improving humanitarian situation &supporting orgs work in this regard
5-I praised Arab Coalition, led by KSA continued support to Yemenis &IRG, last of which is $1bilion bank deposit, which contribute to alleviate suffering after stopping oil exports due to Houthi militia targeting facilities and oil ports in the provinces of Hadramout and Shabwa
6- I pointed that stopping of oil export caused heavy losses to economy &deprived govt financial resources that were directed to public servant salaries &improve basic services, living conditions, in a Houthi attempt to impose an economic blockade, incurred by the Yemeni people.
7-I referred to Iran's role in fueling conflicts &support to Houthi militia with ballistic missiles &drones &intl community inaction re Iranian weapons smuggling to Yemen over years,unlike its situation towards use of the same Iranian weapon in Ukraine
8-HE Ann HE Ms. Ann GueGuen emphasized France's support to efforts, &to legitimate government &support to Yemen security, stability &safety of its lands, wishing to achieve a comprehensive &fair peace that achieves Yemenis aspirations in a better future to overcome war &conflict.
