How to become a more EFFECTIVE writer:
1. Impress with clarity, not vocabulary.
2. Write with a specific outcome in mind.
3. Edit. Then, edit again. Then, when you think you can't cut anything else...cut something else.
4. Get to the point.
5. Write for readers, not yourself.
6. Make readers feel seen.
7. Organize your writing in a more strategic way than just whatever order the ideas happened to come to mind.
8. Open a loop in the reader's mind with your first sentence.
9. Have a specific action you want the reader to take after reading what you wrote and optimize your writing for that action.
10. Write because you have something valuable to say - not just because you want an audience.

I share writing tips like these in my one-paragraph newsletter every week.
