Union Budget presented today is without any big ideas.
It’s a budget that is in denial of ground realities.
Silent on growth, unemployment, high prices, nothing substantial for SCs, STs, marginalised 1/n
False promises evident fine print where it’s clear that the Budget Promised more but actually spent less on agriculture, PM Kisan, education, health, Social empowerment, SC & ST welfare
The budget had to spend more on MNREGA but has cut funds by nearly 1/3rd again 2/n
Tax Sops in Budget largely for the super rich. Govt giving with one hand and taking with the other for middle class. All tax exemptions gone. Govt will let go of 35,000 crore in revenue but hopes to get back 30,000
Crore.Middle class doesn’t even get inflation adjusted relief

A lot of money and focus is on green energy, hydrogen emission, EV etc but how does it help tide over the present crisis of unemployment, high inflation, poverty and concentration of wealth. How does it benefit the poor, farmers, labourers?4/n
The success of Bharat Jodo visible in union budget. FM started by saying we need to distribute benefits of growth across people. Ironic when 1% of Indians own 40% of wealth under Modi’s watch 5/n
80 crore people beneficiaries of food grain. The govt has no option but to do this, especially when 23 crore people have been pushed below poverty line. UPA lifted 27 crore people out of poverty 6/n
FM said since 2014 people’s lives are better. How exactly?Growth is low, inflation is high, unemployment is even higher, poverty has risen? Suicide by farmers and daily wage labourers on rise. Classic statement of a govt blissfully and brazenly unaware of ground realities 7/n
FM said 11.4 cr farmers given 2.2 lk Cr in cash. what about money extracted through higher diesel prices, GST on fertiliser, pesticides, farming equipment.
First instalment 11 cr farmers, 11th instalment 3.8 cr farmers?
Nearly 30 people in farming commit suicide everyday. 8/n
PM Awas Yojna fund increased to 77130 Cr in RE23 from BE23 of 48,000 crore. This year 79,590 Cr allocated. PM aawas Yojna is behind target big time  so where is all this additional money going? Are there cost over runs? 9/n
Ujjwala LPG claim is a farce. Due to high prices nearly 90 lakh beneficiaries don’t get refills and over 1 crore beneficiaries refilled their cylinder only once - this is according  to govt data

MSME largely repackaged covid scheme. Cost of credit reduced by 1%. But MSMEs don’t need loans - they need fiscal incentives
Fiscal deficit at 5.9% in FY24, FY23 fiscal deficit at 6.4%. This govt in the last 9 years has not met fiscal deficit numbers even once n/n
