So I'll go straight to the point with no intros to the thread
Make sure you don't take this lightly
LET'S GO
So a lot of the people I see running lead gen agencies
Think that the money-making skill is being able to:
- Buy domains & warm them up
- Scrape lead lists
- Write email copy
- Do inbox management
And yeah 100% of those are important & valuable skills
BUT NOT THE MONEY MAKERS
Anyone can these days go and buy a course or go through Instantlys accelerator course
And learn all those things in a day or two
If it's easy to do
IT'S NOT VALUABLE
Yeah you can charge $1000-$2000/mo doing it
But at that point, you are basically an extra set of hands
COMMODITY
A FUCKING BITCH ASS COMMODITY
So now you are probably asking:
So Leevi, what is the actual money maker as a lead gen agency owner?
IT'S THE ABILITY TO THINK
The truth is...
That most of these businesses don't struggle with outbound because they don't know how to do it
It's fucking simple bro
You think that these 8-fig companies don't know how to send a fucking email??????
OFC THEY DO
So the thing they are actually struggling with is:
- Identifying the right audience
- Finding the right angle
- Presenting their offer to match market sophistication & Awareness
- Connecting the niche with their offer
So for you to be valuable
like REALLY VALUABLE
These are the problems you need to solve for companies
You need to CRACK the code
Example situation:
Marketing agency owner builds a marketing agency
They have 15 different services
They do SEO, PPC, Creative, SOME, Content, Branding, Web Dev and all these things
Let's say they also serve all possible markets
Start-ups, tech companies, consumer-facing brands, IT companies and huge enterprise orgs
They might have been able to scale to $100k/mo through network, referrals and going to industry events
And they know it's not predictable
So they need to crack outbound
The funny thing with outbound marketing is that it's the hardest marketing channel to get working
BUT
When it's working
It's the most predictable
It's the cheapest
And it's also the best in terms of lead quality
So you just can't come in and spend a day writing a few cold email scripts and scraping a quick list of 3000 companies from apollo
IT'S NOT THAT FUCKING EASY
Otherwise, they'd just do it themselves
You need to be able to come in
Analyze their company
Their most profitable clients
Their case studies
Trends in the industry
Their services and strengths
and MUCH MORE
You need to identify the most profitable niche for them to focus on
You do this by analyzing, doing market research and testing
You also need to be able to look at all their services and assets
And package them into the BEST POSSIBLE offer for that niche
Then you need to find a way to present the offer to the market you've identified so it plays into the market awareness & sophistication level
SO THEY ACTUALLY FUCKING UNDERSTAND IT
You need to understand the trends in the market
The pains, desires, fears and goals
Then when you've found the winning combination
Everything is easy
Then you can just slap these cold email campaigns together in a day and they'll perform
If you are not able to do this
You'll always be replaceable
The example above about the marketing agency
It's literally a situation one of my clients was in
I helped them to find their best niche
And created an offer for that niche from their +40 services
Through testing, feedback and iteration
I managed to crack outbound for them
I sat in their sales calls, onboarding calls, and team meetings and personally talked with their niche for HOURS in calls
They TRIPLED their monthly revenue in a few months after we cracked outbound for them
Changed the whole direction of the company
Now they are doing amazingly well
It's not easy
But you'll get better at it the more you do it
You start identifying the niches & offers faster
You'll learn trends and commonalities in the market
You just need to be in the trenches for a long enough time
