TLDR
@SeiNetwork is a layer 1 block chain focusing in trading, optimising exchanges to offer best UX
Core features
1. Native order matching engine - drives scalability of orderbook DEXs built on Sei
2. Chain finality ~600ms

3. Twin-turbo consensus - improves latency and throughput
4. Frontrunning protection - combats malicious frontrunning that is rampant in other ecosystems

Why might it be a gem?
Sei optimises in speed, finality and features specific toward trading.
It is a #cosmos SDK base with IBC enabled chain, meaning it can be connected seamlessly with other cosmos chains.

Although it’s still early stage of the project but if it does deliver in providing a good trading experience with #Cosmo’s composable design. I can only imagine the number of DeFi legos that can be built on top. ( a bit of hopium, very early stage )

Synthr allow users to mint&trade onchain derivatives. It’s architecture reminds me of SNX, Debt base minting of derivatives. Their documents are the most ready in compare with other SEI native protocols, need to do another deepdive into it.

From what I know right now, they have synthetic CDPs, swaps & farms.

Summary & opportunities
Sei is a high performance chain design for defi, although it might compromise a bit on decentralisation a bit but as the market has proven from BSC, SOL it has an appetite for it.

As early eco-system there will be lots of incentives, early farms, ideally innovative protocols as well. I missed out on the apto but i am keen to keep an eye on sei.
