All processes, whether related to the development of products, the #development of specialized services, or any routine business process, are affected by the eight wastes of #lean .

The production process generates a great deal of waste, and much of it goes unnoticed or unaddressed. When you consider waste merely the scrap material discarded, you are focusing on a very small part of the entire picture.
Originally derived from the Toyota Production System, Muda is composed of three Japanese "Mu" words: Muda (Waste), Mura (Unevenness), and Muri (Overburden).
There are several tools for continuous improvement, but Muda is the one that most people focus on due to its ease of recognition and implementation. In lean manufacturing, one of the objectives is to eliminate waste to reduce costs and increase profitability and productivity.
The 8 Types of Waste
Transportation: Generally, transportation refers to the movement of people or parts along a process flow that is not necessary. The result is time spent moving goods or people around unnecessarily due to processes not being in a logical order or near one another.
Inventory: Overstocking leads to a waste of money and space. It is also possible for goods/products to be damaged or lose their value while being stored. A business cannot afford to have a warehouse full of parts that its customers no longer require.
Motion: Wastes associated with movement within a specific process, as opposed to waste associated with movement between processes. Within a process, motion waste refers to unnecessary steps or movements that are required to complete the process.
Waiting: To reduce the waiting, reduce the reasons why something may cause someone to wait.
Overprocessing / Extra Processing: Overprocessing waste can be a result of seeking absolute perfection and as such results in increased costs without the actual improvement in the product or value gain for the customer.
Overproduction: There is a possibility that this will lead to an increase in inventory waste. Overproduction is primarily responsible for this problem. As a result, you would be wasting your time and resources and may not be able to produce other types of parts as a result.
Defects: In your work, you produce junk - scrap parts, errors in reports, and misunderstandings regarding food orders. Occasionally, you may be able to rework it for minimal costs, but it is still a waste of time and resources.
Skills Underutilized / Non-Utilized Talent: Typically, this occurs when the organization fails to make effective use of its employees' skills and knowledge. The HTML code you are attempting to debug is being handled by a world-class programmer.
