On 31 August, Call for UK Government to push for release of Jagtar Johal Singh
WDC was unanimous in agreeing a motion calling on the UK Foreign Secretary to advocate for the release of Mr Johal, who faces the death penalty.

On 07 September, Jagtar was brought to court amidst tight security.
This is the first time Jagtar has been presented in court in person since January 2021.

On 21 September, @facebook decided to un publish the campaign page, claiming Community Standards were breached almost a year ago.
The page was reinstated then unpublished again on 30 September until 21 October. Restrictions were set limiting info shared.

In or around 21 September, renowned poet Rupi Kaur, whilst on tour in the UK, in Glasgow took the opportunity to be Jagtar’s voice in her show.

On 15 October, Jagtar for the first time was told of the charges he is facing in three of the eight cases, to which he plead “Not Guilty”. Whilst other five cases remained pending formal charges.

18 October, Jagtar spent his 5th wedding anniversary separated from his wife.
Jagtar’s wife was granted Humanitarian Protection following an uphill battle, and an appeal being allowed by an Immigration Judge in September 2021.

On 28 November, as predicated the trial was adjourned until 13 January 2023.
Jagtar has been formally charged on five out of eight cases, next hearing will be 06 Jan for the other three cases.
