When #BusinessAnalysts use different BA techniques, they help companies identify needs, root out flaws, and sift through a flood of #data and options to find the right actionable solution.
Let's learn about the trendy BA Techniques in the following thread ⬇
1. SWOT Analysis: The #SWOT analysis is a four-quadrant analysis where the data is categorized and analyzed according to the four quadrants. Business analysts are responsible for answering the questions under each of the four quadrants.
The term "SWOT" stands for its four elements:
• S- Strength
• W- Weakness
• O- Opportunities
• T- Threats
2. MOST Analysis: Business analysts use #MOSTAnalysis as one of the most powerful business analysis techniques to analyze what an organization does and plans to do to reach its goals, as well as how it should maintain strategic alignment.
The term MOST stands for its four elements –
• M-Mission
• O-Objective
• S-Strategy
• T-Tactics
3. Business Process Modeling (BPM): Business Process Modelling focuses on the improvement of business processes. It is an existing one, but it is often used during the analysis phase of a project to identify & analyze the gaps between the existing and future #business processes.
Business analysts perform the below tasks in a BPM project:
• Strategic planning
• Business Model Analysis
• Defining the process and designing it
• Technical Analysis for complex business solutions
4-Use Case Modeling (UML): Often, Use Cases are modelled as examples of how a proposed system should interact with users. Typically, this is used during the design phase of software development projects to translate business requirements into functional specifications.
The process of drawing UML diagrams can be carried out using different tools, including Microsoft Visio, IBM's Rational Rose, and others.
5. Brainstorming: Business analysts frequently use this technique as a group activity. This is a very creative method that involves the completion of a group activity that generates ideas, identifies root causes, and proposes solutions to the problems.
As an added benefit, Brainstorming can be used as a basis for other business analysis techniques such as SWOT analyses and PESTLE analyses.
