Rao Tularam Singh was one of the freedom fighters and one of the leaders from Haryana in the War of Independence of 1857.He,along with his cousin Rao Kirshan Singh, defeated the British in the battle of Nasibpur(present Mahendragarh distt of Haryana)on 16 Nov 1857.
During the War, he manufactured guns and other ammunition for use in battle against the British.
Rao Tularam Singh was a Yaduvanshi Ahir Raja of Rewari. His father was Rao Puran Singh and mother Rani Gyan Kaur.
After the death of his father, he became the chieftain of Rewari at a young age of 13, from the year 1838. The British occupied his kingdom and appointed a tehsildar to look after the affairs before the War of Independence of 1857 broke out.
Rao Tularam Singh regained his kingdom with a force of around 500 men soon after. He further raised an army of 5000 men and started manufacturing guns and ammunition.
The battle between the British and Rao Tularam Singh took place at Nasibpur. It was 16 November 1857.
Rao won the first battle where many British soldiers were killed. He was defeated in the second battle after which he, along with his forces, joined Tantia Tope in Rajasthan and continued fighting against the British.
Rao Tularam Singh sought refuge in Kabul where he breathed his last due to an infection.
He attained Sadgati this day, the 23rd of September in 1863.
