๐Testnet Wave 1 focuses on operators โ specifically validators and those operating Full Nodes.
In Wave 1, we aim to improve our decentralized coordination + incident response, and identify a core group of operators who have experience in deploying, monitoring, and debugging.

In Devnet, Mysten Labs operates 4 validators to verify transactions.
Testnet Wave 1 includes third-party validators and Full Nodes selected from our open application process.

๐คUnlike Devnet, incident management will be community-driven, not Mysten Labs-driven, in Testnet. This will enable community members to provide more input and hold greater responsibility for maintaining the health of Sui.
๐ A note to builders: Devnet remains the preferred environment for developers to build + test applications, as Testnet may be subject to operational drills & may have longer windows between fixes.

๐The intent of Sui is to set a new standard for web3 infrastructure. Unlike other blockchains, Sui uses an object-oriented data model to represent digital assets.
