๐คฃ You jest but I believe we see a "MySpace of Digital Collectibles" in 2023. Like MySpace in it's day:
- It's a homestead
- (Relatively) Early and ugly
- Everyone over 30 thinks it's stupid, everyone under 30 is there
BUT
- built from your wallet, not your hard drive

Like MySpace, you express your unique identity, but using scarce digital goods instead of abundant ones. The future of identity is ownership, in serious (your passport is in your wallet) and fun (my @Deadfellaz NFT gets me into a party, my ODB photo shows my music taste) ways.
This isn't about the red herring of speculative, high-priced NFTs or even digital art. Imagine a Digital Collectible that comes with your basketball shoes, your @kendricklamar ticket stub, a $2 pic bought on @instagram, or one you got for free via your school or political party.
Think of what this does the the CMOs of traditional consumer product companies -- now they are competing to make the digital thing that comes with the physical product you buy worth putting in your gallery/on your "2023 MySpace page". Artist collabs go into hyperdrive.
Imagine when these Digital Objects start to reflect your behavior. I already have one that tracks how many miles I've run this week: opensea.io What about one that shows I shop local or other ways of value signaling?
Concert tickets are a clear example of the evolution from pre-Web, to the advertisements-everywhere "revolution of information" that was the internet, to the "revolution of value" we are heading into now...
...When I was a kid my AC/DC concert ticket lived forever on my cork board. Internet-bought concert tickets feature ugly half page advertisements and go in the garbage. Tomorrow's tickets will be beautiful collectibles you show off on your "2023 MySpace page" after the show.
@myspacetom: Who do you think will lead this? Will it be @kevinrose and @proof_xyz? @0xDecaArt? @oncyber? @instagram? @GALLERY? @Twitter? @rainbowdotme? Who else is in the running?
