Using DefiLlama to its full potential is a MUST if you’re doing fundamental analysis in crypto.
Almost everyone in DeFi knows about DefiLlama’s TVL rankings. But did you know that’s just one of many features?
Here are 9 tools on DefiLlama that you probably don’t know about 👇
1. DEX Volume
TVL is a great metric, but volume can be equally illustrative for DEXs.
DefiLlama shows you the past 24 hour volume as well as change over the past day, week, and month by DEX. You can also see volume by chain (a great way to assess where on-chain activity is).
Comparing aggregate DEX volume now to last fall shows just how dramatic the drop in on-chain activity has been.

2. Potential Airdrops
The most valuable airdrops tend to be existing protocols that airdrop a token to users after the fact (Uniswap, ENS, etc).
DefiLlama’s airdrop page shows a list of protocols without a native token.
Sort by TVL to see the largest protocols without a token.
While these airdrops are all speculative, this is a good place to start if you want to airdrop farm.
Airdrops are the easiest way to go from less than $100 to thousands of dollars in crypto.

3. Smart Contract Language Stats
Which chain developers choose, plays a large role in determining where the most innovative dapps will be launched.
DefiLlama’s language breakdown shows you the TVL by smart contract language.

4. On-Chain Liquidation Levels
Ever wonder what ETH price will cause major liquidations? Yeah, DefiLlama has info on that too.
Head over to the liquidations page to see on-chain liquidation levels across an entire host of coins.

5. Recent Protocol Additions
DefiLlama’s ‘Recent’ page shows protocols that were recently added to the platform.
This is a great way to find new projects for your research list.
It can also help with seeing which chains new projects are launching on.

6. Stablecoin Flows
Stablecoin flows are one of the best ways to identify chain growth.
While they aren’t perfect, stablecoin growth on a chain cuts out much of the recursion that results from ecosystem tokens pumping simultaneously.

7. Yields
DefiLlama’s yield tool is a great way to find the highest yield on your favorite token.
Filter by chain, token, APY, TVL, and confidence level.
Once you find one you like, drill down to see the longevity of that APY.

8. Protocol Chain Breakdown
For protocols that are deployed on multiple chains, DefiLlama shows a breakdown of TVL by chain.
Helpful feature when doing due diligence on a protocol. Scroll down to the 'TVL Charts' section to see this.
9. TVL Filters
Most people that have interacted with DefiLlama have used their TVL stats. But fewer know that you select what to count (or not count) in TVL.
Add or remove staking, pool 2s, borrows, liquid staking, and double counting (like autocompounders).
Hope you learned something new here.
Shoutout to @DefiLlama, @0xngmi and the rest of the DefiLlama team.
