Why I'm so bullish on building a personal brand?
Story time:
When I joined the web3 space I didn't know anyone at all.
No friend of mine was in this space.
But I started tweeting, mainly because I wanted to have a better understanding.
I started with threads and this...
...kickstarted everything for me.
Suddenly I started getting comments from people who wanted to learn more.
So I kept tweeting.
In less than 2 months I was getting invited to TG groups where some whales were posting their alpha.
I started becoming known in my community.
This led to more opportunities.
By the third month, founders started to reach out to me.
The ball kept rolling and suddenly I was being followed by multimillionaires (and even by the billionaire Novogratz).
This was quite amusing for me.
Why?
Because in my mind I was just a regular everyday normal mfer.
I just like to do stuff.
I like to tweet what I find and the discoveries I make.
By the 4th month I had already landed a job with the Delphi guys and started building Astroport and Mars.
All because of a tweet.
When the NFT scene hit Terra, I was honored with customized NFTs and customized jpegs (my pfp was a gift from the @galactic_punks)
When I went to NYC last year for TeFi Alpha, I was treated like some kind of local celebrity by the community. It was quite crazy tbh.
But I wasn't the only one.
I saw the same happen to other guys such as @speicherx, @MilsteinmAb, @TheRyanLion, @stablejim, etc.
All of them built their personal brand and all of them were rewarded for their efforts in a similar manner.
All because they decided to tweet.
But the more my account grew, the stranger it got.
I started getting followed by the likes of Mayor Francis Suarez from Miami.
I was followed by people I used to follow on YouTube.
From one of the most famous lawyers in Argentina, to the creator of the biggest rap movement.
I've never asked for anything in return.
Things just happened because I was tweeting and talking to people.
When I decided to learn CosmWasm and Rust, I had the best teachers in the space (@larry0x, @stablechen, @PFC_Validator, Pete from @BitesDigitalGrp)
Later in my journey I was invited to a Discord server with the top guys on Ethereum.
All because I had decided to tweet 10 months earlier.
Now, I'm not a gigabrain like most of the guys I've met.
But I'm relentless in doing things.
I'll post everyday if needed.
Why do I know this works?
Because I had done a similar thing in the motivational space 6 years ago when my FB page reached 2M followers in just a year (now it's 9.3M).
I had done it in the mexican rap industry 10 years ago.
I had also done it in the Spanish copywriting space.
But how?
I took a topic I was super interested in, and I started talking about it. Everyday.
I know that anyone who does the same for 30-90 days will get the same results.
Because I've seen it with others who have applied the same method.
The formula?
Take a topic you like.
Write about it for 30-90 days.
Connect with similar minded people.
Provide value without asking for anything in return.
And you'll see how your world changes.
This is not to sound presumptuous, but rather to show you that you can also go from being a total anon in the space to become known and invited to all kinds of opportunities.
From TG groups and Discord servers with those you admire, to getting job offers thrown at you.
Cheers.
