Apache Kafka is an event streaming platform used to deliver real-time data streams.
Kafka API architecture is made of 5 different APIs. It is a powerful tool for building scalable, distributed, and fault-tolerant apps.
Here are 5 best practices for using Kafka-based APIs.

Here are 5 best practices for using Kafka-based APIs.
1️⃣ Know the hardware requirements
There are several varying requirements for Network, CPU, and RAM.
For example, a more powerful CPU is needed if SSL or log compression is used.
Overall a fast network with low latency and high bandwidth allows nodes to communicate easier.

2️⃣ Track and monitor
Track metrics such as Network Request Rate, Network Error Rate, Under-Replicated Partitions, Consumer Message Rate, and Total Broker Partitions.

3️⃣ Configure Producers to wait for acknowledgments
Doing this lets the Producers know that the message has made it to the Partition Broker. This creates fault tolerance by avoiding the failure of a single node.

4️⃣ Configure Retries on Producers
If the Producer fails to publish the data stream, the default number of retries is configured at 3.
In most cases, this is far too low. Configure your retries to ‘Integer. MAX_VALUE’ if your application cannot risk data loss.

5️⃣ Use the latest version of Kafka
It may seem obvious, but upgrading to the latest version of Kafka is crucial for optimization, security, distribution, and more.
Each Kafka update can bring essential improvements, so always check you aren’t running an older version.
