It is said that most SMC traders are clueless as to which OrderBlocks are tradable and which are not. And most even limit their knowledge to just the last bearish or bullish candle before the momentum BOS, In this thread, allow me to add to what you know already or confuse you !
Tradable Orderblocks , A thread !๐Ÿงต๐Ÿชก
Now theoretically Orderblocks exists as support or Resistance zones or as demand and supply zones as Today's SMC traders know !!. And we know that they are always the last bearish candle or bullish candle before the buy or sell respectively
But in this Thread I want to iterate a few things by first showing you how to know a high probability Orderblock and where you should look out to trading tradable orderblocks
Now prior to now we all believed what I said in thread 2 as being the Orderblock to trade
But in today's market that would make you look foolish cuz you'll be roaming about looking for last bearish or bullish candles before the bearish move and end up hitting multiple SL ! , as it seems in today's market they said TA is a waste of time and that the game is a liquidity
Game rn !! It's a game of who grabs or can spot the most liquids and harness it to his advantage, this isn't a thread on liquidity, that'll come later but if you're reading this thread you should have good knowledge of liquidity sweeps for you to flow better and well
As it is said and rumored that as the day go SMC traders are the brokest๐Ÿ˜… very true ??? , I know alot of people who make banks daily with smc so how come ? This is it๐Ÿ‘‰ the inability to evolve with the market has kept some previous knowledge dependent Traders in series of losses
Self doubt and doubt of the game !, lol let's proceed
An Orderblock doesn't have to be the last bearish or bullish candle before the whatever move for you to offload your entire portfolio on that one trade๐Ÿ˜…
High probability orderblocks are seen close to imbalances and sweep prev
Candle high ( liquidity sweep )
Lemme use a pic to illustrate the liquidity sweep of a high probability orderblock , from the pic below my high probability order block becomes the bearish one because it took out the previous candle high sweeping liquidity off it
I'll show you more using a YouTube video I came across and you can go watch for yourself as well
Trading hub explained better in his YouTube video use link below to access that๐Ÿ‘‡
youtu.be
So yh essentially what I look out for before trading orderblocks are Imbalances and sweeps close to my high probable orderblock
Following this
I've come to understand that an orderblock mustn't be the last bearish or bullish candle before the bullish or bearish BOS
Another question I get asked alot is why do most traders use Wicks as their entries ??
Now lots of upcoming Traders in their TA 101 were taught to cover completely the entire orderblocks but sometimes this can be risky because the price impact at SL would be too large
Wanna know what I do ??
I usually sell or buy at the Extreems using a wick risk entry model
And 79% of a time I've backtested this, it has worked beautifully for me,
I'll use a trade I made one time here on my CT to illustrate my wick entries
Follow me let's proceed๐Ÿ‘‡๐Ÿ˜…
Here you would realise that if I had used the last bearish candle before the bullish BOS I would have been taken out, and if I hadn't used the liquidity grabbing candle, I would equally be taken out !!
Xoxo >>>๐Ÿ˜…
Hope you're with me ???
So most of my entries are usually at the wicks
Literally marking out the open to the end of the wicks extreem !!
Now we have that out of the way let's talk more about where you can find tradable orderblocks
And for each type I'd drop a pic showing you my execution on them โฌ‡๏ธ
Tradable Orderblocks
- Orderblocks at S&R zones
- Orderblocks at Flipzones
- Orderblocks close to BOS
- Orderblocks before Imbalances
- Orderblocks at Breaker Blocks
First Orderblocks at S & R are quite the easiest cuz you find them more at S&R zones but be watchful of being $
Orderblocks at BOS are the easiest cuz they're what we see everyday, Orderblocks too at close to Imbalances too give an insight of valid orderblocks
Orderblocks at flipzones and Breaker Blocks too are prolly my last favorite types of orderblocks
Still don't understand breaker blocks ? I dropped a gift containing a video link on one of my tweet Here's the link to see that ๐Ÿ‘‡
youtu.be
You can get ideas ๐Ÿ’ก there
Lastly What is a Bullish OB ??
A bullish OB to me is the down candle which has taken out other significant candle lows near a support or demand level which fuels the move UPโฌ†๏ธ
And a Bearish OB > is the candle up or near to the resistance zone( having Liquidity sweep ) before
The move downwards !!
That'll be it for now
I believe links I dropped in the thread would help you understand better cuz videos communicate better than writeups
Learnt something ?
