1. Unconfirmed but developing thread: since Aug 6, the #UK's RAF C-17 ZZ173 has been doing nearly daily flights to #Pakistan's Air Force base Nur Khan in Rawalpindi departing from #Romania or Cyprus. This past week alone it completed 6 trips according to @TheBrit96.
3. Important to note that according to @SIPRI the largest Pakistan-#Ukrainian military deal was done more than 20 years ago in 1996 for 320 T-80UD/Ob’yekt 478BEh tanks, built by the Kharkov Machine Building Design Bureau. Tanks were delivered btw 1997-1999 and remain in Pakistan
4. Last March, @defense_news reported on this stating that an industry source with knowledge on this said that "Pakistan was already replacing Ukrainian equipment before #Russia’s full-scale invasion where longstanding supply problems had forced the country's hand."
5. 1 T-80UD weighs approximately 42,500kg and the UK's C-17 heavy lift aircraft has a maximum payload of 77,000 kg of cargo. Another theory floating around is that the flights are transporting 155mm ammunition from Pakistan to #Europe
6. The #Pakistan Ordnance Factories produce more than 1 type of ammunition that is compatible to Ukrainian military standard-issue rifles. Among these is the 155mm HOW HE M107 which could very well be transported back and forth. pof.gov.pk
8. Update as of Aug 22 (4th week since these frequent flights started): the 12th trip has been achieved between #Pakistan to Romania to shift resources
