While we celebrate the jubilation of Independence day hereโ€™s another side of the tale- the cost of the #partition
Train-loads of refugees arriving at Ambala station in post-Partition Punjab,1950
People, including women and children, cross a river near Bagdah in West Bengal on August 7, 1971 after they fled their homes in Bangladesh (East Pakistan) and sought refuge in India. Nearly 84 lakh men, women and children migrated to India
Another important event of the partition that is oft forgotten was the rฮนot which occurred at Calcutta, also known as the โ€˜Calcutta Mass K!||!ngsโ€™. Many were K!||ฮตd and vultures fed themselves on the corpses of the deceased.

The partition also paved way for r!ots, which kฮนllฮตd hundreds of people. Scores of dฮตฮฑd bodies were thrown in ponds as well as streams in the border regions of India and Pakistan.

This couple lost their little bundle of joy as a result of the infamous partition of 1947. Many people, especially those living in the border regions of India and Pakistan had to pay a heavy price.

Plight of Hindus living in Pakistan was a sight of horror the memory of which will haunt every future generation whenever our Tiranga will be hoisted to mark our Victory.
