How to build a reading habit in 4 easy steps:
To start you'll need a book and a reading tracking app.
I recommend Bookly–it's free and easy to use.
It will be your reading coach/accountability buddy on your journey.

1) Set A Tiny Daily Reading Goal
The hardest part of reading is opening the book.
Setting a tiny goal (ex: 15 minutes a day) will make it less intimidating to start and make you feel good after achieving it.
Remember: Consistency builds habits, not intensity.
2) Create A Reading Plan
A study found that people who created an exercise plan increased their chances of working out by 91%.
Do the same but for reading–here's the formula:
"I will read for 15 mins at [TIME] in [LOCATION]."
Ex: I will read for 15 mins at 8am in my kitchen.
3) Set A Reading Reminder
Setting a reading reminder will help you remember and follow through on your reading plan.
Go to the Bookly app and select the day and time you want to read.
You'll get a notification when it's time to read which is your cue to pick up a book.
4) Track & Record Your Progress
After you're doing reading, enter how many pages you've read into Bookly.
Seeing your reading progress helps keep you accountable and motivates you to keep the streak going.
Also after you finish a book you'll get a bunch of cool reading stats.
Follow these steps and you'll be on your well way to becoming a lifelong reader!
