If you already know the basics of trading but you don’t have time to watch the entire @I_Am_The_ICT 2022 mentorship 40 videos, you can get the top 5 insights and keys to the ICT trading strategy (Price Action Method) here: a thread🧵
1. Liquidity - Price moves toward liquidities a.k.a. those retail stop-loss (SL) orders during certain time windows (Killzones). The Buy-Side Liquidity (BSL) is SL resting above the old highs and the Sell-Side Liquidity (SSL) represents SL sitting below the old lows.
Quoted Michael "Yes, folks... price moves NOT because of Harmonic, Elliot Wave, Supply & Demand, or Wyckoff." The Main Kill Zones time windowns are: London = 2-5am EST, NY = 7-11am EST, London Close = 10-12am EST.
2. Fair Value Gap (FVG) - When the price moves too fast in one direction creating a "gap" inside candle stick(s) that the price would move back to fill those gaps. They are also where the price is likely to retrace (before a reverse). FVG often is a good entry point.
3. Market Structure Break (MSB) - MSB happens when there is a shift in a trend direction. The breakpoint of a down-trending market is where the price moves from LL to a fresh HH and from HH to a fresh LL in an up-trending market. An optimal entry often comes right after an MSB.
4. Premium/Discount are areas where we look for an optimal setup. They can be identified by splitting your range in half. For a bullish market, you would look to buy in the discount area, the lower half. For a bearish market, you look to sell in the premium area, the upper half.
5. "Daily Bias" is a preconceived direction of where the market would be at the end of the day (bullish or bearish). Use your bias to find the liquidity pools that reside in the direction and look for your optimal entry point (Hint: it is often at the FVG).
There you have it, Folks. The key learning points of the ICT 2022 free mentorship on YouTube that I spent over two months going through every single one of them. Thank you! Feel free to comment on anything I missed.
