My crypto journey at 16 years old
From 4 figures to 7 figures back to 4 figures in 1 year

Quick Disclaimer:
This is by no means a way for me to boast or brag about my accomplishments. It is solely a way for me to tell my story and reflect on the lessons I learned
It all started in early 2021 when I was stuck in quarantine.
School went virtual and everyone was working from home.
I found crypto and took a some $ out of my savings to try it out
It began with me swing trading $BTC and $ETH, somehow managing to make 50% in my first month
I started joining telegram groups and made my twitter account.
When one day I stumbled upon Terra @terra_money
I immediately became attached. Sold all my other crypto assets and even took more out of my savings to go all in on $LUNA
I risked everything.
Thankfully I was right.
The Terra ecosystem was rapidly expanding, $LUNA began to pump, and everything was looking great.
However, rather than just staying a passive holder, I wanted to have more involvement in the growth of the project so I began writing articles and posting.
I wrote the Terra Weekly Report every Sunday and it compiled all Terra news that occurred that past week. I thought of this idea because I remember it being very difficult to keep track of everything happening in Terra. (Exchange Listings, projects launches, etc.)
It took off.
Some big names started appreciating my work and I even got retweets from @stablekwon himself. My following began to grow as the Terra community started to form.
I have to give a massive shoutout to everyone who supported me at the start.
I continued to put out content.
I started reaching out to various projects launching on Terra offering to write articles on them.
I expected nothing in return. I was just genuinely interested in Terra and wanted it to succeed.
After continuing this for months and months, I got offered my first “private sale”
I had 0 idea what that meant and also had 0 money to participate. Everything I had was locked up in staked $LUNA, which had a 21 day lockup period
So I went to someone I trusted and he funded the deal, saying this would change everything for me.
He was right.
The project did a massive multiplier and I had now been introduced to a whole new world.
What I got from this deal went towards future investments and the remainder went into building my $LUNA stack.
During all of this, $LUNA continued to soar.
My following continued to grow and, most importantly, I was meeting some very interesting people who taught me valuable lessons that will help me for the rest of my life.
I was now what you would call an “angel investor”
I then branched out to other projects outside of Terra
Ultimately, focusing on building my brand and making important connections to a large variety of people.
I got introduced to many VCs, influencers, and project founders. I joined team calls, advised projects, and really did anything I could to explore new innovative ideas.
I was the luckiest teenager alive. Everything was going so good. LUNA was hitting new ATHs and I was TOO confident. In crypto you would call this, “marrying your investment”. After waiting over a year, things were finally paying off. $LUNA was the best performing asset in 2021.
I was fully dedicated to the Terra ecosystem, having almost everything I owned invested in either $LUNA, Terra projects, and $UST.
I think we all know what happened next.
The first week of May came around and the unthinkable occurred.
Terra collapsed in the span of 72 hours.
An over $50 billion ecosystem wiped out in a matter of days. $LUNA spiraling down to 0 and $UST de pegging. I didn’t know what to do. I spent everything I had trying to save my positions on Anchor. In hindsight that was a terrible decision
I was using my money to save a position that was ultimately going to be worthless. The network was down. No one could get their money out. I remember not being able to concentrate in school and having multiple mental breakdowns.
I was witnessing millions of dollars disappearing in front of my eyes.
And not just the money. My reputation was destroyed. My entire profile was dedicated to Terra and I let my followers down. I had gotten many friends and family members into Terra as well. I was devastated.
I was hearing terrible stories of people taking their lives as a result of this incident. People lost their entire life savings. People who had families to support. I was losing friends. All trust was gone.
On top of all this. I had so much coming and was working on so many new things.
I had multiple projects that I was working on launching.
I had many investments in upcoming projects now worthless.
I didn’t know what to do.
Now over a month later and after a lot of thinking, I have gained the courage to speak out and reflect on what happened.
It’s so easy to get caught up on the $ amount lost, but the takeaways and learning experiences that I was able to gain at such a young age are invaluable.
I am blessed to say I had my family and some really close friends to support me through all of this. I really began to realize the true things that matter in life. For me personally, it’s the people who care for me.
After all of this happened, I was able to spend quality time with a lot of friends who I hadn’t spoken to in a long time. Before, crypto was taking up every minute of every day for me. And this event allowed me to take a step back and focus on what is actually important to me.
I have also been able to learn a ton of lessons about finance and business but that deserves it’s own thread, which I will be putting out soon.
I’d like to give a huge thank you to all of those who supported me. I received countless messages from people checking on me.
Today was my last day of school and I will be looking to slowly get back into crypto. Starting from the same $ amount I had when I began, but with much more knowledge and experience this time.
