Episode Nupur Sharma - takeaways
1. The role of a spokesperson is to be vague - not create controversy. White House spox Jen Psaki was annoyingly vague. Russia's Dmitry Pskov is unruffled yet firm. By that yardstick Nupur failed spectacularly in her job. But here's the good part.
2. The episode highlights the extra-territorial loyalties of many Indian Muslims. They didn't approach Indian courts. Instead they incited mobs and appealed to Islamic countries to hit India's vulnerable underbelly - oil, 70% of which comes from the Gulf.
3. This is a good thing - provided Hindus accept the nature of this radicalised group. The unknown adversary is more dangerous because you don't know who or when they will strike. But once you know who you are dealing with it's a lot easier to tackle the threat.
4. Sure, there are good Muslims like Kerala governor Arif Mohammad Khan and the late president Dr APJ Abdul Kalam but they are so few to be meaningless. Plus, most Muslims don't consider them "true" Muslims because such leaders are patriotic towards India rather than Pakistan.
5. A consistent aspect of major upheavals is that many Hindus become disheartened. For instance, when the Taliban stormed Kabul, friends were worried. They feared apocalyptic scenarios of every city in India being overrun by jehadi mobs. It was almost comical.
6. Some said the Taliban, Pakistan and radicalised Indian Muslims would join hands to storm Delhi. To be sure, that is indeed the wet dream of these three groups but the fact is it didn't happen. To allay their fears I had to write an entire article - over and above my contract.
7. The trouble with Hindus is most of us don't know our strength. While 20% Indian Muslims think and act like a majority, the 70% Indian Hindus think and act like a minority. This needs to change.
8. The No.1 fear was that millions of Indians would be kicked out of the Gulf countries. The second worry was that the Gulf states and Iran would block oil exports.
9. If the Gulf states evict Indians, the biggest losers would be Indian Muslims because they form a hefty chunk of Indian workers in the region. Kerala would be instantly pauperized. But this won't happen.
10. Just like South Delhi housewives need their Bangladeshi maids, the Gulf states need reliable Indian labour. They have been evicting lakhs of Pakistanis because these workers are promoting radical Islam in their host countries. Indians on the other hand are totally apolitical.
11. At any rate, are we a dirt poor country like Somalia or Bangladesh that we can't support a few millions workers if they are expelled from the Gulf. India has 1,400 million people. The only place that will feel the pinch is Kerala and that probably will be a good thing.
12. Regarding oil, India is the world's third largest importer at $64.6 billion. Do you really think these Gulf states would stop oil exports to India and lose this vast revenue when oil can be freely purchased from the international spot market?
13. Sure, the price of oil would be higher on the spot markets but our industries and traffic won't grind to a halt. There's plenty of oil available. Plus, there's always Russia.
14. The reason why India relies on the Gulf is proximity which makes it much cheaper to ship. But if the Islamic bloc slaps an embargo on India, shipping it from Russia or Venezuela won't be difficult at all.
15. So the reason why the BJP suspended Nupur is not because oil or Indians in the Gulf. It is because she wasn't a good spokesperson. Instead of making the BJP look good she did the exact opposite. I admire her for what she has done but from the BJP's POV she failed.
16. You may have observed how the Gulf states are no longer a safe haven for Indian terrorists, embezzlers, fugitives and Pakistani terrorists. This is due to Team Narendra Modi's diplomacy which is tightening the noose around Pakistan's neck.
17. India is also building more dams in the Himalayas to divert its share of waters from the Indus Waters Treaty. At some point in the future India may even walk out of the treaty and and squeeze Pakistan's lifeline.
18. Breaking Pakistan is definitely on India's radar and India is pursuing that option. Therefore, all these moves aimed at dismantling Pakistan will at the very least require the world (and especially the Gulf states and Iran) to look the other way, if not offer covert support.
19. Many of you may have faced financial or workplace hardships and after overcoming them you may have said in the manner of Scarlet O' Hara in Gone With The Wind:
20. "As God is my witness, they're not going to lick me. I'm going to live through this and when it's all over, I'll never be hungry again. No, nor any of my folk. If I have to lie, steal, cheat or kill. As God is my witness, I'll never be hungry again.
21. That's the kind of determination that comes when episodes like Nupur Sharma happen and Indian, Pakistani and global Muslims unite against India. This is the time when Hindus must admit we are alone in this civilisational war.
22. So the first thing to do is to fast track renewable energy. It's not easy to wean away from oil but the good news is the process has already begun. India is one of the largest installers of solar power. Plus, most countries have mandated a 30% electric car fleet.
23. Such measures will snowball in the coming years. The share of solar energy and renewables in India is 13.22% currently. Just a few years back, nobody knew about solar power, but today households across India are installing them and using net zero from the grid.
24. The share of nuclear energy in India is 4%. France derives an astounding 70% from n-power which is why it is the least worried about the US-led ban on Russian oil and gas. But perhaps India is looking at an entirely different source of fuel which could be a game changer.
25. That game changer is gas hydrates which are more abundant than crude oil and a lot cleaner. And guess who has the top global reserves - US, India and Russia. Unfortunately for the Gulf states, God didn't give them any hydrates.
26. According to the US Geological Survey, India has the world's second largest gas hydrate reserves. The Krishna-Godavari, Cauvery and Kerala basins alone have 100-130 trillion cubic feet of estimated reserves. Minister Dharmendra Pradhan says India has reserves for 300 years.
27. It's hard to make predictions but in about 50 years, most of these Gulf states will be either like Singapore (having transitioned to a trading economy) or they will end up like Yemen - no money, no economy, just civil war.
28. The UAE is the most modern, progressive and farsighted of the Islamic crescent. You can freely consume pork and alcohol in places like Dubai. Currently, it appears set to thrive in the post-oil economy.
29. The Kuwaitis may well be hawking dried fish in the streets of Baghdad. Qatar may be invaded by Iran and become a province of that country. You get the point - most of the Gulf won't be a nice place to be.
30. Now let's come to Indian Muslims. You can give them scholarships, IAS, free homes via PM Awas Yojana and the moon, but their loyalty will be with Pakistan. You can take that to the bank.
31. Indian Muslims are merely waiting for the population clock to tick over to 51% at which point they become the de facto rulers of India. It might come earlier at 40% (with Left support) but at 51% they will officially become a majority.
32. At that point you can kiss goodbye to Arthashastra, Mahabharata, Ramayana, Sulabha Sutras, Upanishads, Hindu history, Yoga, dhyana, Ganapati festivals, Durga Puja, Diwali, Holi and just about everything India is celebrated for.
33. So the time to act is now before this perverse thing called electoral democracy disenfranchises Hindus. As Turkey's Erdogan has done, once Islamist parties are elected to power, the democracy charade ends there.
34. Kerala's Islamist parties, the PFI and SDPI, have been voicing their intentions loud and clear - that they will eventually take over India via elections. At 30% of Kerala's population, they are not even hiding their intentions any more.
35. This joke called electoral democracy must end. First there should be indefinite President's Rule and then India should become a Hindu Rashtra with Hindus (and other Indic religions - Jains, Sikhs and Buddhists) having primacy.
36. Indian Muslims and Christians will have the same right as non-Muslims in Malaysia where the Muslim Bhumiputras have assured reservations in all areas - education, jobs, businesses.
37. This is the only option for non Muslims in India. If they don't act soon, the population bomb will destroy any hope of a comeback. Modi may not entertain this idea but the next rung in the BJP leadership should implement the transition from democracy to benign dictatorship.
38. Also, don't forget India has around 150 nuclear weapons with fissile material for 2,800 more. This arsenal will fall into the hands of Islamists. India will become an Islamic superpower, which will have immense geopolitical consequences.
39. Marcus Cato of Rome said about the need to destroy its rival Carthage: “The Carthaginians are already our enemies; for he who prepares everything against me, so that he can make war at whatever time he wishes, he is already my enemy even though he is not yet using arms.”
40. It is up to Hindu leaders or the Indian Army to establish a Hindu Rashtra and save the world's oldest and most inclusive civilisation. Democracy is not working for Hindus; it is only emasculating them while offering a huge incentive for others to out-breed Hindus.
