10 Lessons from Don’t Believe Everything You Think (thread)
1) Stop thinking and end your problems.
2) When you are doing your best work and are in a total state of flow, where there is no separation between you or the work you are doing, you are having no thoughts in the moment.
3) Our feelings do not come from external events, but from our own thinking about the events.
4) Thought is not reality; yet it is
through thought that our realities are created.
5) The root cause of our suffering is our own thinking.
6) Just like how there are no wrong keys on the piano, there are no "wrong" decisions in life. There are only thoughts that give us a pleasant or not so pleasant feelings.
7) If we want to see the natural state of anything, one of the best ways is to look at nature and the state of it in its infancy (before it is affected by its environment).
8) The source of thoughts and the source of thinking are different, and the source is what will dictate whether it causes suffering or not.
9) In short, the moment we stop thinking is when our happiness begins.
