Farm incentives is not the antidote to poor price action
"But if u provide high APR people will have high incentive to buy our tokens."
No, the real antidote is good product and community management

Marketing is really important
If you thought you could just let the product "speak for itself", then sorry mate, you're in for a big reality check.

Develop a personal brand
It baffles me how many crypto founders don't spend a lot of time on their own Twitter accounts. People are more likely to follow personal brands than company brands. Having street cred goes a long way

Even if you fuck up, it's not the end of the world
Just look at Axie - $600m but they're not at risk of dying. You'll be surprised to know users are actually really forgiving; what they won't forgive you on however is poor communication, which brings me onto my next point...

Good communication is everything
Keep your community up to date and tell them your thoughts. Being honest is good. Being condescending, standoffish or snarky is bad. Dodging questions or blaming others is also bad.

There will be some bad eggs in your community
These guys will kick, whine and scream to get what they want. They're manipulative and they'll bait u into saying something bad so they can use it against u later. Stay cool, don't get triggered and politely tell them to fuck off

Don't always take your community's suggestions
They might even come from high profile influencers. Hell we have some who keep asking for limit orders. Listen to them, but also know that most of the time they'll give you bad suggestions. Then just politely say no...

Don't simp for high profile influencers
Srsly, they're not ur best friend. Stop with the honorary NFTs and all that nonsense. Their only friend is money; if your token is hot, they'll love you and if it's not, then they're onto the next thing. Stay warm and neutral

Learn to say No
Seriously, have a fucking backbone and just say no. Don't delegate it to a DAO vote or any crap like that. You're expected to have an opinion and you're allowed to express it

Never, ever use Twitter to make personal rants
I don't know how to say it bluntly, but no one cares that you're depressed or your investor won't take your calls after getting in your seed round. This is the life you choose

Guard your reputation at all costs
If FUD ever comes from high profile accounts, then it's your duty to guard your reputation at all costs. CT is a high school playground and if you're not able to stick up for yourself and sling it back then you're gonna get murdered

Don't get into arguments
Don't ever get baited into long-winded debates where you start arguing the nuances of x, y or z. Just state your claim boldly and end the convo. Your time is valuable ffs

Don't call yourself a dev
The community see devs as servants, which you're not. You're the fucking CEO for Christ's sake, so start acting like one.
