#Thread: The Kashmir Files and left ecosystem
‘The Kashmir Files’ will become the first genuine Rs 300 crore film without the usage of underworld’s money-laundering schemes, here are a few point of views, a few stray thoughts & a few random observations.
Contd.... 1/n
This year will forever be hailed as that moment when a low-budget film, ‘The Kashmir Files’ transitioned from being a movie to a monstrous hit to a movement to a montage of those who were wronged to a motivation for reimagining Bollywood as a purveyor of nationalist narratives.
And while the old Bollywood & it’s Leftist parental ecosystem is still busy denigrating @vivekagnihotri as some B-Grade copycat filmmaker, the audience’s simply refusing to listen & has elevated Agnihotri to the halo of a new, improved Greatest Showman of Indian Cinema.
So, does he deserve to be hailed as the best? Well, that’ll take some more body of path-breaking work to judge, but what remains a fact is that he has firmly reset the Hindi cinema to the golden days of Prabhat studios, which had bold films firmly rooted firmly in Indian psyche.
Films that spoke of our problems & parables, and established a deep connect with our audience. Vivek Agnihotri has done exactly that, without using their template…Has he established a new format of storytelling?
Yes - if you consider the abysmal standards of Bollywood & No - if you look at our traditional storytelling forms… So Agnihotri excels in telling a story within a story.
In ‘The Tashkent Files’, he took a fictitious committee setting & covertly unraveled Indira G’s hand in Lal Bahadur Shastri’s murder… The film said it all, without saying much… ‘The Kashmir Files’ too combines a collage of a few true stories, within a fictional cover-story.
Now this maybe trailblazing for Bollywood, but our bestselling author S L Bhyrappa has been routinely doing this in Kannada literature, where his must-read ‘Aavarana’ too uses a fictional love-jihad setting to unravel the entire narrative of faux secularism.
Practically destroying the Islamic whitewashing to the last lie. I’m happy that Agnihotri has mainstreamed this style. Hopefully more filmmakers follow this path & we’ll acknowledge the debt of Sanatani visionaries like Prabhat’s Damle-Fatelal-V Shantaram combine & SL Bhyrappa.
They have been the real unsung pioneers & as Brian Roberts correctly points out: Pioneers are the ones who get the arrows in their backs.
That speaking of arrows in the back, one person who’s leading the charge against the Pandits happens to be St Kejriwal.
Who has taken it upon himself to spit on the genocide of Pandits, brand it as a lie & trash their story… He & his ilk laughed off the Pandit massacre & insisted that Agnihotri put the movie for free on YouTube, instead of looking for tax waivers.
Now many of y’all might’ve found St Kejriwal’s hyena laugh revolting, but then you gotta understand his logic for it… For those who came in late, St Kejriwal has always fashioned himself as the Robinhood of beggars, wherein he & his fellow bums beg from the Centre.
And pass off a part of the alms to his dedicated audience of wretches & freeloaders… He did the same in Delhi & is now looking to do it again in Punjab… Now when these kinda guys come across a successful filmmaker like Agnihotri making a film on KPs.
The ravaged-and-yet-risen-like-Phoenix community of Kashmiri Pandits, they see ‘em as an anathema… Praising Agnihotri actually means dissing his loyal voter base of entitled tramps, victim-card peddlers, free moochers & India haters.
St Kejriwal & his types not only have to ridicule the Pandit massacre, but also ensure that the film cannot earn money for Agnihotri… As in, if the Sanatani ecosystem becomes self-sustaining & profitable, there’ll be more films coming through.
With a pro-Indic narrative that’ll help consolidate the Hindu voter base. And that’s bad news for the Kejriwal types… So naturally you’ll see AAP giving tax-free status for duds from Hindu-haters like Swara Bhasker, Kabir Khan etc.
Yeah, I mean it would’ve been funny if it was not so tragic, that St Kejriwal uses the largely-Hindu tax money unaccountably to prop up the anti-Hindu ecosystem with tax waivers & ‘em useless and ceaseless ad campaigns.
All said, for the hapless Pandits subjected to Kejriwal’s mocking, it’s getting hard to distinguish as to which scum is the worst - the wolves in Yasin Malik-Bitta Karate or the hyenas in Kejriwal’s AAP?
That this rampaging success of ‘The Kashmir Files’ also brings out the disparity between the victimhood narratives of the Islamist & other refugees.
For instance, 1947 saw a whole lot of impoverished refugees streaming into the country from Pak & within a span of 5-6 decades, we’ve witnessed Sindhi Camps & Punjabi Baghs in every other Indian city becoming the hubs of commerce & industry therein.
Can you say the same thing about Rohingya & Bangladeshi camps, which are usually hovels of squalor? Then again, how many Mohajirs have we seen going across the border from here & becoming big bizmen in Pakistan?
Likewise, countless Pandits who were thrown out of their homes & offices started afresh in the 90s & have now made a good life for themselves again in Delhi & other cities of the world…
Though their neighbours in Kashmir who sold ‘em out & occupied their properties are finding it hard to even maintain their illegal possessions… Yup, they’re still living on handouts from the Centre or from scamming the Indian tourists.
Like it or not, but the success of ‘The Kashmir Files’ brings out this contrast sharply & that’s one of the reasons why the Leftist cabal hates the film so much.
The exiled Pandits may be mentally scarred, but they’re certainly not destitute anymore & this very fact shows whattay bankrupt ideology the Leftist-Islamists practice…
That’s why St Kejriwal & his guys wanna badly whitewash the genocide & call it false… Pity it doesn’t explain as to why there are so many Kashmir Pandits outside the valley than within it…
Hatefuls like Kejriwal could do well to ponder a quote by the Somali refugee poet, Warsan Shire: No one leaves home unless home is the mouth of a shark…
That while on sharks, Bollywood biggies are now painfully waking up to the fact that the audience tastes have changed for the better & that their usual crap has few takers now.
When ‘The Kashmir Files’ was first released, we saw a stony silence within Bollywood over the first weekend… Internally, Bollywoodiots expected the film to run out of steam after the first few days, but since it was not happening.
Hence we saw a steady beeline of B-graders & eventually A-graders coming out in praise… And once the movie knocked out biggies like Gangubai & Bachhan Pandey out of the theatres, stars as shallow as Big B & callow as Aamir Khan too had to go public with praise.
In an attempt to pander to the audience’s new taste… Does that signal the end of shitty Hindi films? They’ll keep coming for a few more years, but the packaging might change…
For instance, my pals tell me that over 100 film titles have been registered with the naming template of ‘The XXXX Files’… Will they all be in Agnihotri mould? Nope, it’s just a facade… Now, truth be told, filmmaking as an art & business is in a renaissance worldwide…
Hollywood too is unable to figure out as to why nobody likes ‘em anymore… Like here in Bollywood, they too have been taken over by Leftists with idiotic notions of political correctness & vain transparency ideals…
Projects just won’t take-off unless they’re BIPOC driven. BIPOC as in Black, Indigenous, People of Colour… Even TV soaps are beholden to the new rules; your talent means jackshit unless you’re of the right colour… Or the wrong colour... Haaa…
Typical of the American consciousness nowadays, no? I mean before they make you go broke, they make you go woke. That my attempts to summarize the impact of ‘The Kashmir Files’ versus regular Bollywood offerings.
